I find it difficult to START my family search! Everywhere I turn it costs something, and it seems that you have to invest a lot of time and effort.
I could be wrong and just afraid to dive in. Wondering if anyone else has felt this way. Or I am just afraid of what I might find

Nope - not everything costs automatically. There are sites that are free which do a great job - Rootsweb for instance. There are more.....

Don't know what I'm doing incorrectly but keep having to fill in the Security check which I'm finding a pain in the proverbial!! that's putting it mildly.
Nearly forgot what subject we were on. Eyes falling out of their sockets. Seem to be the usual case with these forums...or for me at least!!.
Rootschat.com is my very favorite. Their members are fantastic & have helped me immensely even going to Museums, Library etc. when I had my accident. Can't recommend then highly enough.
